We build websites designed to be found, understood and chosen.
Design is only the surface. We research the business, structure what matters, design the journey and build a fast website that customers, search engines and AI systems can understand.
01 / Why build
Anyone can generate a website. That’s not the hard part anymore.
AI and modern website tools have made it much easier to produce a decent-looking page quickly. We don’t pretend otherwise. Crawl Nine uses modern tools too.
The harder work happens before and around the code.
What should the customer understand first? Which pages deserve to exist? What questions need answering before someone will enquire? What should search engines understand about the business? What should an AI system be able to verify? Where should a lead go, and what should happen after it arrives?
A website can look polished and still fail every one of those questions.
Crawl Nine Build combines research, positioning, information structure, UX, design, development, performance and search foundations so the finished site has a job beyond simply existing online.
01
What should people understand?
Who you help, what you do and why they should choose you.
02
What should machines understand?
Your services, expertise, relationships and important business information.
03
What should the visitor do next?
Call, enquire, book, buy or move to the next decision.
04
What should happen after that?
The lead should reach the right person, system or workflow.
Production is getting cheaper. Judgment is getting more valuable.
02 / The system
The build starts before the code.
Build is layer five of THE CRWL9 SYSTEM™, not step one.
Before we develop anything, we decide who the site needs to persuade, what information deserves to exist, how that information connects and what action each important page should support. Design comes after those decisions, not instead of them.
- 01
Position
Define who should find you, what they need and why your business should matter to them.
- 02
Structure
Turn services, expertise and business information into a clear architecture for people and machines.
- 03
Experience
Shape the journey around intent, questions, objections and the action the visitor needs to take next.
- 04
Design
Use hierarchy, credibility and visual direction to make the right information easier to trust and act on.
- 05
Build
Turn the approved system into clean, semantic Astro code with as little browser-side JavaScript as the job allows.
- 06
Speed
Test the finished site for loading, stability, accessibility and technical performance before performance becomes somebody else’s problem.
Then the site has something to work with.
- 07
Crawl
Make important information accessible.
- 08
Answer
Improve how search and AI systems understand when the business is relevant.
- 09
Acquire
Add paid reach when the foundation is ready for it.
A better website is not the end of the system. It is the part the later layers depend on.
03 / Beyond pages
Sometimes the most valuable part of a website isn’t a page.
Not every business needs custom software. But some of the biggest gains come from removing friction between a customer deciding to act and the business being ready to respond.
A visitor may need an estimate before they enquire. A customer may want to book without calling. A sales team may need better information before a lead reaches the CRM. A repetitive internal step may be simple enough to automate.
That is where Build can extend beyond pages.
Estimators
Help customers understand likely cost, scope or fit before they contact you.
Booking flows
Turn intent into an appointment without adding unnecessary steps.
Lead qualification
Collect the information your team actually needs before the conversation starts.
CRM + automation
Route enquiries, trigger follow-up and connect the website to the systems behind the business.
Custom tools, complex integrations and software are scoped separately from the standard Build where required.
We don’t add technology because it sounds impressive.
We look for friction that costs the business time, leads or money and decide whether software can remove it.
04 / Conversion
Every important page needs a job.
Traffic is useful only when the right visitor understands enough to take the right next step. We design each important page around that decision rather than treating every page as another place to put copy.
A homepage may establish positioning. A service page may capture existing demand. A landing page may turn paid traffic into an enquiry. A booking flow may remove a phone call. A form may qualify the lead before it reaches the team.
Attention
Give them a reason to stay.
Understanding
Make the offer and relevance obvious.
Trust
Answer objections and support claims.
Action
Make the next step clear and easy.
Measurement
Know what happened after the click.
A page is finished when it has a purpose, not when it looks complete.
05 / Search + AI
Built for humans. Legible to machines.
A website has more than one reader.
A customer needs to understand what you do, whether it fits their situation and what to do next. Search engines need crawlable pages, clear relationships and enough context to decide when a page is relevant. AI systems need explicit, useful information they can retrieve and interpret without guessing what the business means.
We build the same site to serve all three.
One website
Human
Clear positioning, useful answers, evidence and an obvious next step.
Search
Semantic HTML, crawlable content, internal links, indexable pages and strong technical foundations.
AI
Explicit services, expertise, questions, answers and structured business information where appropriate.
AEO and GEO are useful labels for improving visibility in answer engines and generative search. We treat them as extensions of strong SEO, not secret ranking systems.
There is no hidden AI version of the website and no guarantee that an assistant will recommend the business.
The goal is simpler: make important information easy to access, easy to understand and worth retrieving.
If a customer, or a machine, cannot work out what you do and why you’re relevant, the site still has work to do.
06 / Research
We don’t start with an industry template. We start with your business.
Industry experience can be useful. Assumption is not.
Before we decide what the site should say or how it should look, we research the business behind it: the customer, the market, competitors, buying behaviour, search demand, objections, trust requirements and the commercial action the site needs to support.
Crawl Nine brings the website strategy, UX, conversion, development, performance and search expertise. You bring the subject knowledge. The work is connecting the two properly.
That matters even more in regulated or specialist industries. If a project has legal, professional, accessibility or compliance requirements, those constraints become part of discovery and design rather than something patched in at the end.
Where interpretation requires legal, medical, financial or regulatory expertise, we work from documented requirements and the client’s appropriate advisers. We do not pretend a web agency replaces them.
Research inputs
01 / Customer
Who are we persuading?
02 / Market
What are they comparing?
03 / Search
What are they looking for?
04 / Trust
What must they believe?
05 / Constraints
What must the site respect?
06 / Action
What should happen next?
We would rather research your business properly than pretend a template makes us an expert in it.
07 / Performance + delivery
Built to perform. Proven before it leaves us.
Speed isn’t something we try to recover after the site is finished. It influences how we structure pages, what we load, what we leave out and how much browser-side complexity we allow in the first place.
The same applies to accessibility, crawlability and responsive behaviour. They belong inside the build, not on a checklist after launch.

A Crawl Nine Build combines research, positioning, structure, UX, design, development, performance and search foundations into one fixed-scope project.
You know the price before we start.
No surprise hourly billing. No compulsory maintenance plan after launch.
What the build is for
A fast, credible website that explains the business clearly, gives people a reason to act and gives search and AI systems useful information to work with.
Custom software, ecommerce, complex integrations and unusually large projects are scoped separately.
Optional after launch
Care $300/mo
For businesses that want Crawl Nine to keep looking after the site: technical maintenance, deployment support and normal content updates within the agreed Care scope.
Care is optional. Occasional changes can also be quoted at a fixed price when needed.
Research before pixels. Measurement after launch.
We scope
Pages, functionality, integrations, requirements and price are agreed in writing before development begins. Starting on Discover first? Month one is the audit and the baseline. That first $1,500 is credited in full against an approved build.
What we won’t sell you
- We won’t sell you a rebuild you don’t need. The free check comes first, and if your site is sound we say so.
- We won’t quote a range that grows. The price is fixed in writing before work starts.
- There is no compulsory maintenance subscription. The website is yours, it keeps working, and you can leave it exactly as it is.
- Work you ask for and faults in what we delivered are two different things, and after launch we fix the second rather than billing it as the first.
What people ask before they say yes
- What if it doesn’t work?
- We measure on launch day and show you the figures. The price is fixed, so a slow result costs you nothing.
- Will I lose the rankings I already have?
- Every web address you have today still works, and any that changes leads to its new page.
- Do I have to do anything?
- One call, one read-through, one yes. No photographs, no brief, no page list, just your domain logins.
- What if I already have a website?
- A full build may be the wrong buy. If yours is sound underneath, Discover, which gets you found in search and AI answers, works on the site you already have.
- Can I stop?
- A build is a one-off price, so there is nothing to stop. Care and Discover are optional.
The website is the foundation, not the finish line
Layers seven to nine of the CRWL9 System begin once the site is live. Depending on what the business needs, we can continue with search and AI visibility, measurement and paid acquisition. All are optional; the website works without them.
Answer and Acquire are Discover and Amplify. Both are monthly and optional, and stopping either changes nothing about your website.
09 / Questions
Build questions, answered properly.
What does a Crawl Nine Build include?
A standard Build combines research, positioning, information architecture, UX, visual design, development, performance and the technical foundations needed for search. The exact scope is agreed before work starts. Custom applications, ecommerce, major migrations and complex integrations are quoted separately rather than quietly appearing as extra charges later.
Can I update the website myself?
Yes, if that is how the project needs to work. For businesses that regularly publish articles or update structured content, we can connect an appropriate content-management system so approved areas can be edited without changing the design system. If you would rather not manage it yourself, optional Care or fixed-price change requests are available.
What technology do you use to build websites?
We choose tools around performance, maintainability and the requirements of the project. Our current stack often includes Astro for high-performance marketing websites. The framework is not the product; the result is. We care about clean output, minimal unnecessary browser-side code, strong technical foundations and a site that remains maintainable.
Is SEO included in Build?
Build includes the technical and structural foundations a new site needs for search: crawlable content, sensible page structure, metadata, internal linking, performance and other agreed on-page fundamentals. Ongoing SEO, AEO and GEO work is a separate Discover service because visibility does not stop changing when the website launches.
Can you guarantee that Google or an AI assistant will recommend my business?
No. Search engines and AI systems decide what they crawl, retrieve, rank, cite and recommend. Crawl Nine can improve the parts the business controls: technical access, clarity, useful information, structure, performance and evidence. We do not sell guarantees over somebody else’s algorithm.
How long does a Build take?
A standard Build is usually completed in two to four weeks. The exact timing depends on scope, integrations, content, feedback and anything unusual discovered during the project. We would rather give you a realistic range than create an artificial deadline that encourages rushed work.
What happens after launch?
Nothing forces you into a monthly contract. You can manage approved content yourself where that has been set up, request occasional changes at a fixed price, or use Care for ongoing website support. If you want ongoing SEO, AEO and GEO work, that sits separately under Discover.
